Radiation pattern of Linksys routers with internal antennas

What is the radiation pattern of Linksys routers with internal antennas like the WRT310N and WRT10N? And what is the optimal orientation of the router for the best signal propagation, lying down on a surface or mounted on a wall? If the radiation pattern is an omnidirectional doughnut, then I'm assuming a lying down orientation is best?
