I am currently using an Asus RT-AC68U as an access point in the middle of my house. My cable modem / router is a Hitron CODA-4582U (wireless is turned off). My internet plan is 150Mbps down / 15Mbps up. I currently get pretty good wifi coverage throughout the home with the RT-AC68U. I will likely upgrade my internet package to 1024 down / 30 Mbps up in the Fall. This will require me also changing out My modem/router for either the Hitron CODA-45 (modem only) or the Hitron CODA-4680 (modem and router).

If I upgrade my Access Point to the RT-AX68U, am I likely to see performance improvements beyond just having wifi6 available? Would this be a a sensible upgrade?

If I go with the Hitron CODA-45 in the fall, I would lean towards getting the AX86U as my main router. Would that make sense?

Thanks!
