To me it's a toss up.Hello,
I just bought the RT-AC3200 yesterday and now I see the RT-AC88U is coming soon to the UK, I am wondering if I should just return the AC3200 for a credit and buy the AC88U instead. Any opinions? is it worth it?
Thanks
Sam

I rather have the dualband 1,4GHz then the 3band 1GHz router
Yes but in a normal household you have CAT6 for your TVs, xbox360, PS4, BDplayes, desktops and so on, the only thing you have the WIFI for is laptops, smartphones, tablets. Myself i prio fast network, i dont have & dont need 15-20 WIFI devices on the same time
Hi, i have PPPOE WAN 1Gb up and 1Gb down. AC88U can handle this speed ? Thank you.
Ok, thank you RMerlin!Yes, as long you keep NAT acceleration enabled.
Actually it's the opposite. Houses are becoming more and more wireless, with people buying tablets, smartphones, wireless printers, etc...
Judging from across forum traffic, the device profile is definitely evolving, and PC's are in the minority in the overall device count, but still demand low latency and high bandwidth... STB's (Roku/Apple TV/etc) probably less worried about latency, but demand constant airtime, and then latency sensitive applications like the XBone/PS4 gaming crowds...
Looking at q4-2015, even then, I would say handhelds (Smartphones/Tablets) are getting close to 60 percent of the mix... and their traffic patterns are very different - they're lower power and lower antenna gains, and they tend to be very bursty in nature...
Please excuse my ignorance, but what is the difference between the AC3100 and the AC87U? I had been considering the AC87U until I read some of the posts on this forum. Navigating the different ASUS offerings can be a bit confusing.Your going to like the 88U. I have the 3100 same router less the 4 extra lan ports and red antennas and so far i love it rock solid performer no issues and it's only going to keep getting better.![]()
