Reverting back from Merlin on RT-AX86U?

Hello, so i just got this new router and after setting everything up i decided to install merlin on it since its widely used.
However after installing the latest one ''rt-ax86u_386.1_beta3.zip'' i had issues with my iptv so i decided to install the current firmware again by just manually uploading it trough the GUI.
Iptv worked again but i got alot of logs that i previously didnt have (i assume logging level from merlin was still in effect?) and i could not change my 5ghz channel anymore, it saved but didnt change eventhough the GUI said its that channel.
So i decided to do a factory reset also trough the GUI.

But my 5ghz channel is still randomly assigning channels while i set it to 80Mhz/Channel124 in the GUI(also the GUI shows 80Mhz/Channel124.
Also are these logs still the basic logs and not some higher admin level logs?

Can i still do anything to set everything back to factory? perhaps the kernel is still changed, i have no idea lol.

Perhaps this has anything to do with the channel switching i also found this in the logs.

You said you had set the channel to 124. That is the worst possible channel because it is right in the middle of the weather radar band. You can expect that channel to be changed over time. Set the channel to something between 36 and 48.

Hello sir, i own a quest and a topic from a network engineer told us in order to keep the latency at its lowest we had to connect the router to a dfs channel. Did i do it wrong, i assume 124 is a dfs channel.
So eventhough its on 124 it will autoswitch back due to interference? Could you recommend me a dfs channel which would not interfere? Im using 80mhz.

I don't know what a "quest" is.

I can't image why anyone would suggest you use specifically a DFS channel, especially as all DFS channels are susceptible to switching (that is the purpose of DFS). I can only guess that whoever said that thought there would be less contention with your neighbour's devices (perhaps this is why he thought it would effect latency) because most people don't use DFS channels.

I suggest you try using non-DFS channels like I said and see how you get on. If you are in the US you can also use the non-DFS channels 149 to 161.

That's exactly why he said it, because he wanted a channel thats not used by regular wifi routers so it didn't have any interference. I'll try your way, thanks man :).
 
Anyone please? My 5Ghz wifi is still switching channels while i set it to 1 specific channel.

Set it to one specific, least-congested, non-DFS channel, 36-48 149-161, at 20/40/80 MHz.
