Solved Router ignoring DNS settings

In Dual-WAN settings, I get, which seems to be stuck there. Probably this is the root cause.

Got it!
The Entry in the Dual-WAN settings caused the problem. After enabling dual-wan, deletion of the manual DNS entry there and disabling dual-wan again, it works as it should be

Have you made any changes in LAN>DNS Director? Global Redirect should be set to "Router".

I seem to have the same issue but my Asus ET12 does not have a DNS Director option, any ideas please?

What firmware are you running? DNS Director is in the Asus Merlin firmware. Your router does not appear to be supported by Asus Merlin firmware.
