RT-AC3200 unable to connect to certain websites

New Around Here
Started to have this issue recently (probably a few weeks back), where access to certain websites appears to not work, e.g., www.fidelity.com, the error message is "Fidelity.com is Temporarily Unavailable". If I connect a laptop directly to the cable modem (not through the router) it appears to work fine. I'm wondering whether there has been additional security features added due to the recent ransomware attack, and whether there is any specific setting I need to do on the router?

ps, last time this happened I end up rebooting the cable modem, the router and my computer multiple times, and was able to get it to work again. However today even after multiple reboots on all components I'm still having the same issue.

Could be that the IP address you get from your ISP is blacklisted. You can confirm that by trying to connect by using a VPN tunnel (for a quick test, try with a free VPN like VPNBook).

If that's the case, then you will need to either ask your ISP to fix this, or start messing with MAC cloning to obtain a different IP. You can also try keeping your modem unplugged for the whole night, in case it might get your ISP to forget your current DHCP lease, and give you a new IP next morning.

This happened to me a while ago. I fixed it by going to AI protection -> dns filtering -> turn it on then turn it back off... profit
