RT-AC5300 firmware update issue

my RT-AC5300 is connected to the internet but when i run a update check and there is one available i get this message (The router cannot connect to ASUS server to check for the firmware update. After reconnecting to the Internet, go back to this page and click Check to check for the latest firmware updates). i tried rebooting but nothing. thank you

Manually download it from their support site and flash it. You might have something blocking your access to their server, either your ISP-provided IP being blacklisted, or some other filtering in place.

I had to factory reset it in order to update it. Thanks
