hey guys,
Just switched over my old faithful AC56U - to a RTAC3100. Works GREAT - much better coverage, and better speeds. But on my other side of my house, downstairs, I get like 8mbps :/ down from 300 directly above that room. My house has thick plaster walls and just sucks up the wifi signal. SO I have this great router just sitting here. So I plopped it in the offending room with my 1200mpbs power line adapter.
I get ok speeds, 140-200mbps, but im stuck on 2x2 with 40mhz.
so I reset to factory, and reset up on 384.6. Still no luck. (actually it doesnt allow me to change the channel either on that FW). Then i reset everything, and went all the way back to 374, nope, that doesnt work, in fact that doesnt even have the N/AC mode. So I reset it again and updated to 380 - but still no luck! both on 80mhz selected, or 20/40/80.
Im thinking this might be why old one got replaced, if I had gotten decent signal and speeds I wouldnt have upgraded.
