RT-AC68U as media bridge - does the bridge act as a router between the devices?

Can't seem to find this on the ASUS website and hoping someone has a quick answer. I have a AC68U and considering getting a second to act a as media bridge. My question is will the second AC68U act as a normal router for the devices physically plugged into it or if they need to talk to each other (PC and NAS) will they have to go though the primary AC68U wirelessly? Seems a shame if they are both plugged in physically to the bridge to not get the benefits of the hardwired connection.
