RT-AC68U Firmware Version ID Wrong?

My RT-AC68U states it’s on firmware version 9.0.0.4.386_41994 when the ASUS USA website states the latest version is Version 3.0.0.4.386.43129. Was the naming revised? My router states it’s on the latest firmware.

The 9.0.0.x versions are beta's or quick fix releases. The "normal" releases are 3.0.0.x.

The current release is 3.0.0.4.386.43129.

Makes sense. My home unit melted down a month or so ago. I had to manually download the firmware and install with router's Mini GUI. I must have grabbed the BETA not realizing that. Thanks for explanation!
