[RT-AC68U] No IPv6 in Repeater mode

I have two RT-AC68Us on my network, one of them set up as a repeater, and I have noticed that IPv6 does not seem to work through the repeater. What do I need to do to fix this?

I did. It was unreliable. Devices connected to the node would randomly lose their connection. Repeater mode actually seems to work reliably, but for some reason, IPv6 does not work over it.

I tried using WDS last night instead of repeater mode, but couldn't get it to work with WPA2 encryption enabled. No matter what I did, the routers just would not bridge. I contacted ASUS, and they told me that WDS only works with WEP or open networks, which is insane! There is no way in hell I'm going to run my network with no security. They told me their engineering team would get back to me about IPv6 in repeater mode, but I'm not hopeful.

Does there exist a third-party firmware for these routers that would allow me to have a working repeater in some way with IPv6 working and WPA2 enabled?

That seems odd, because I know I used WDS years ago with a pair of Linksys WRT54GLs and DD-WRT, and there's no way I wasn't using WPA at the time. In any case though, I need some solution. I'm considering returning the second RT-AC68U and getting something from another company, but I don't know what would be best for my situation.
