NTP hasn't worked in a while. Running latest firmware(manually done) and using as an AP. Can perform a NS lookup on a NTP ip address but not domain such pool.ntp.org. Log says:

May 5 01:53:39 reboot scheduler: [timecheck] NTP sync error
May 5 01:53:45 ntp: start NTP update
May 5 01:53:48 ntp: start NTP update
May 5 01:54:03 ntp: start NTP update
May 5 01:54:06 ntp: start NTP update
May 5 01:54:09 reboot scheduler: [timecheck] NTP sync error
May 5 01:54:21 ntp: start NTP update
May 5 01:54:24 ntp: start NTP update
May 5 01:54:39 reboot scheduler: [timecheck] NTP sync error

Ideas?

I also have a RT-AC68R running in the AP Mode, and NTP has been working correctly for the last several years with all the various versions of Merlin and stock firmware. The RT-AC68R is running latest stock firmware 3.0.0.4.386_45987-gb8fc0b6 at the moment. What's your NTP Server setting?

As NTP server pool.ntp.org should work, it is also the default. Unless you are maybe somewhere that block this server.
Make sure there is no typo in it (use copy / paste to get it right).
What NTP server is set in the main router?

Here is some writing about NTP servers:
