RT-AC68U Repeater with NAT and DHCP?

Occasionally my Cable Internet Provider goes on the fritz and I would like to use my phone's internet as a backup source for keeping the home network connected.

Also, occasionally, I like to share a single hotel Wifi connection with multiple devices.

I know I was able to do this on my RT-N16 with TomotoUSB installed.


Is such a mode available on the RT-AC68U with standard Asus firmware? Basically, I'd like to simply replace my upstream connection from using my cable modem to using my phone.

In Tomato, if memory serves, you set up a repeater and turned on NAT and DHCP.

it will tether with an android phone without issue on stock firmware

if you have horid apple phone it will do it wil dd wrt

you dont cause thats not what repreater mode does , all repeater mode does is replicate the primary router config and just extends the wifi

OK, so which mode is it I am looking for as originally asked?

you setup dual wan with usb as the second wan and set it to fall back to usb if primary fails , this is of course if you have andriod phone
