Hi guys, please to point me in the right direction if I missed something, but amidst all the "devices losing connection to router" and "router losing internet" threads, I cannot find anything about my issue: the RT-AC86U periodically loses wifi, as if both radios shut off.
The router USUALLY still has WAN connection and works with wired connections when this happens, but both 2 and 5 GHz access points disappear, and the only way I can get them back is to reboot. I've tried disabling/reenabling the radios with no luck. I've altered various settings back and forth (smart connect, channels, power levels, etc) just to see if anything changes about the issue, it doesn't.
This happens perhaps once every week or two. I tried setting the router to reboot one a week (which I hate the idea of) but that not only didn't stop the issue, but the self-reboots almost always fail, requiring a manual restart anyway. Perhaps those issues are related?
I am on the latest rmerlin build and have had this issue for at least a year, through several firmware updates.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
ApK
