well i actually did find that in there and i tinkered with it limiting all the users devices that have conected but as far as i can tell its not working as intended. for example i limited a lap top thats has been connecting to 50mbps upload and download speed but when i look at it in the net work settings it shows that the tx rate and rx rate it seems to be doing whatever it waants to do

It might be easier to limit all clients on a guest WLAN and not have to identify and limit each client individually.

You may need to reboot router and clients to establish the new normal(?)

An easy fix is to just give out the password to the 2.4GHz WiFi band. And turn down the RF power to that band.

What are your ISP speeds, up/down? Depending on how low these speeds are, the above suggestions may not be enough.

An easier 'fix' would be to change the WiFi password and not tell anyone. :)

Limiting bandwidth can have the opposite effect, i.e. cause MORE congestion/airtime use. This post explains why:

The better approach is to balance load across bands or control access as others have suggested. If you need more Wi-Fi bandwidth and your ISP connection supports it, adding a second AP or router converted to AP is the only way to actually add bandwidth. The new AP needs to be set to different channels, however to add bandwidth.
