RT-AX86U (non-Pro) Firmware?

It's been almost six months since the last firmware update for the RT-AX86U. The hardware doesn't show as EOL, but is 3.0.0.4?

That's what that model is supposed to use (3.0.0.4.388_x). The non pro RT-AX86 series apparently won't get the 3.0.0.6.102_x firmware. That 3.0.0.6 firmware version is reserved for certain routers like the Asus "Pro" series (like the RT-AX86U Pro).

But will the 3.0.0.4.388 line still get updates for the foreseeable future? Six months since the last update for a popular model like the AX86U seems way overdue.

Only Asus can definitevly answer that question. And I don't think they reply to posts here in an official capacity.

Some of their other models likewise went many months (some six months or longer) without firmware updates. A pure wild speculative guess is the RT-AX86 series (the U/S models) will probably (at some point) get the same security vulnerability updates that are being rolled out to other models recently. See the other recent 3.0.0.4.388_x firmware posts in this subforum for the past few weeks for the similar/same code update that is being rolled out for that firmware code line.
