RT-BE88U Main Wifi Smart Connect

I've heard and read that Smart Connect is enabled by default on the main wifi but I see there is no switch in the GUI. I'm not going to install the app on my phone just to disable a single feature. I know the setting is in nvram:

smart_connect_selif=3
smart_connect_selif_x=3
smart_connect_x=1

So, what do I change, and what to?

To disable it? Looking at the source code it appears to be:

nvram set smart_connect_x=0

But that's just a guess.
