RT-BE92U 5GHZ error??

newbie2382

New Around Here
Hello people

I'm new here, and English is not my first language.. I have a problem with my Asus RT-BE92U router.. The thing is that the 5ghz signal keeps shutting down a couple of times a day, and after a minute or so it comes back up again..
I really dont know why? i've tried, MLO deactivated and activated.. i dont use VPN, dont use ai protection, Qos or DFS?? I've updated the firmware a couple of times through the past 3 months, But it still keeps having this problem??

Could this be a firmware issue? Or do you think its a faulty device??

Thank you, so much!!

Thank you for your help.. I will try that:)
I actually have another question.. My router is on the 2nd floor and it needs to be able to cover both my 2nd and my 1st floor.. I've tried to rearrange the antennas, so that it can cover my other asus router, i have in a mesh.. But in which way do i turn them?? and is there any difference in which of the 4 antennas i rearrange?? I have tried to point 2 of them downwards. But can only get about 250 mbit on the 1st floor
By the way i have 1gbps internet

Thank you!

But in which way do i turn them??

There is no answer to this question - environment dependent.

Turning low-gain mostly omnidirectional antennas won't produce any dramatic improvements.

Hello again and thank you.

The thing is, when the antennas point upwards, i cant reach my mesh, on the lower floor, i get a little help pointing 2 of them downwards.. But what i dont know is if which of the antennas sending which signal?? It has 4 antennas, are they all sending the same freaquencies? or are some of them independentny sending 2 - 5 or 6 ghz??
Do you hae any other ideas on how to get better coverage??
Thank you..:)

All antennas are most likely multi-band and what you see as size/length is non-functional plastic for show. Part of the consumer design and marketing. The actual antenna inside is about 5cm long standard dipole. Your router actually has 5x antennas, one is internal and fixed. Better coverage ideas in an completely unknown to me place - none.

Hello again:)
I've seen a couple of videos on youtube these:
and this :

I tried to position the antennas like this with a little more luck:).. But is there another way to strenghen my signal?? or maybe a setting that allow more power?? Or maybe beamforming? (dont know what beamforming is. Im trying to find some info ). Would that help??
Thank you!

You can play with the antennas, but no other options other than moving the router to a better location.

This router is not very popular around, perhaps less than ten of somewhat active SNB Forum members have it at the moment, some of them are happy including on latest firmware. Most likely the issues you guys have are not firmware related. If no settings solve the issue including defaults - contact Asus Support and ask for resolution.

I have a RT-BE92U, and overall, all it's been a good router. I haven't had the high CPU usage, or crash / reboot issues many have reported. I have had other issues though such as certain iOT devices not wanting to connect right away to 2.4Ghz when 6Ghz is enabled, and on this latest firmware, now it seems like one of my smart bulbs turns the wrong colors when connected to this router, and I was able to associate the two by switching back to my RT-AX86U, and the problem going away, and switching back to the BE92U (even with a hard factory reset) and the problem returns. Besides these little issues, as a whole, I've been able to use the router from day one when I got it last year as my main router.

As far as the bulb, I have seen my bulbs start to act strange after a couple years when it comes to the colored LEDs, and that's what I thought this was initially was an aged bulb that needed a replacement, so I got a new one, and under the BE92U the new one wouldn't stay connected, but under the 86U that issue went away too, so this router is kind of hit and miss.
