RT-BE92U and Merlin 3006.102.7_2

Everything was running fine on 3006.102.7, then I saw my router was no longer "not going to get another update" and put 3006.102.7_2 on.
Since then it's been a rollercoaster. I just saw a related reply in the Merlin post but can't reply as the threads locked.
Things will be going fine, then suddenly everything starts dropping off the router and mesh nodes. I reboot the nodes then the router and the same thing happens, I have to power cycle the router for it to behave again, seems odd, why doesn't a reboot do the same as a power cycle.
Anyway, just here to say 3006.102.7_2 is buggy on the BE92U after a dirty upgrade from 3006.102.7
I was about to factory reset the router until I saw this post https://www.snbforums.com/threads/asuswrt-merlin-3006-102-7-is-now-available.96796/post-989428 where @aex.perez has already done this and the problem remains.

I honestly don’t know if it will help you or not, but my RP-BE58 was failing to hold a connection with my RT-BE92U main router, even when I downgraded it to a media bridge from AiMesh. Then I saw this post from user random9 and changed the control channel from the new default of 100 to. 149 and it restore stability.

Unrelated to that, I also had a main router crash last week that according to my log, came when I walked through my house with my phone then running IOS 26.4.1 to take the dog out. It took my wife out of her Zoom meeting for a few minutes and I heard about it when I got back. This week, my Zenwifi BD-4 near my garage got a stock firmware update addressing:

Wi-Fi roaming stability for devices supporting 802.11k but not allowing 11v.
Wi-Fi roaming compatibility and stability for iOS 26 devices
