RT-N56U: Updating to 3.x firmware from 1.x; Anything special to be aware of?

New Around Here
I've decided to update my routers to the current style firmware. Back when the newer version first appeared I seem to remember a complicated ritual was needed when updating from the 1.x version to the 3.x version but I don't see that in the firmware description anymore. Can anyone explain what's required?

My current setup is to use the 2.4 band for wireless network access and the 5 Mhz band in bridge mode to stream multimedia from my computer room (where the Internet access is) to my living room where my TV (and bridged router for old non-wireless devices.) Do I need to be aware of any issues with this sort of setup using the newer firmware?

TIA

Somewhere along the way, they decided updating to Radio OFF was smart - made no sense to me! May be better now, or storing settings during upgrade. Radio ON/OFF is on Professional tab.

I guess it is pretty straight forward:
Install the new firmware and do a hard reset by press and hold the reset button over 5 seconds.
Configure the router manual again, do not use an old configuration backup (it may help to write down your configuration settings).
If you use the Download Master, than update that as well.
