RT-N66U: How to access the connected USB external portable HDD?

HI, All

Sorry for the newbie question, I had my WD external portable HDD connected to one of RT-N66U usb port, its flashed with latest Shibby TomatoUSB firmware, USB and NAS/USB Storage Support is enabled, Samba File Shareing is enabled, the rest are all set by default, Workgroup name is same as my Win7's workgroup name: WORKGROUP. But I can't access this HDD from my laptop (Win7 64bit professional).

What am I doing wrong/missing? Any helps are much appreciated.

May be problems with name resolution.
Try to access it directly with the ip address, i.e \\192.168.1.1 in the resources explorer win 7 bar.

I'm assuming you were talking about Window Explorer, I tried by typing \\192.168.1.1, and get 'Window can not access \\192.168.1.1' error.

Ineresting...I put a USB memory key on my router just to check this out, and accessing \\192.168.1.1 via Windows Explorer works for me. I can see what's on the USB key.

By the way, using Asus .102 firmware and Windows 7 on my desktop.

Well, actually just tried my WinXP desktop computer, it did see the HDD, so obviously, its working, but my Win7 laptop can't see it for some reason, any hints why I'm getting 'Windows can't access 192.168.1.1' error?

Got it working: the Workstation service need to be turned on.
