I recently became unable to use my openVPN server to access my network. I'm not trying to get past any filters, just want to be able to access my network securely. I believe stateful packet inspection is the culprit. I've already tried changing the port from the standard 1194 but that didn't work. I found a recommendation to try "obfsproxy". Seems that I need to be able to start this service on the router at startup time. I believe I've seen that the Merlin firmware supports this. I'm using stock Asus fw. Is there a way I can start "obfsproxy" reliably at startup on my stock router?
Also, if there are any places I can look to learn more about the "non-persistent" file system that I see using SSH, and how I can make changes that persist across power cycles? I'm not sure why the "real" file system isn't available, other than to make it less likely for a user to brick the router? Thanks.
