New Around Here
Greetings.
I just had to replace the above router because, after 8+ years of faithful service because it was malfunctioning: The connections (both Ethernet and Wi-Fi) were flicking in and out of service. However, I am concerned about just discarding it. It kept its white list of permitted users (by MAC address) and passwords through power blackouts so it almost certainly still has that information in non-volatile memory. How can I wipe that memory (and be certain it's REALLY gone) before tossing it in the trash? I don't see a pin-hole that I used to restore a previous WiFi router (not ASUS) to factory defaults.
If I could find screws with which to open the unit I would be able to destroy the memory card that way? Or do I need to take a sledge-hammer to it?
Thanks for help with this.
