RTN-66U Not recognizing printer plugged into it?

I have a Epson RX595 plugged into my router. I ran the Asus Printer utility and it failed to recognize anything was even plugged into the USB port.

Does the utility only recognize certain printers? Or is there a way around this?

Does it show up at all on the routers main starting page web ?

Not a bit. It's like nothing is even plugged in (It is) And I know it's not the USB port on the router itself. I tested it with a USB stick and it recognized it immediately.

Any suggestions?

I guess it's possible there is an issue with the USB cable perhaps...tried a different one?

No, I haven't. Don't have any spares to use. But if it matters, when I hook the same cable up to a USB port on my rig, it finds it almost immediately.

What else is there? I'm supposed to be able to use a Printer by hooking it to the router USB Port, right?

Hi,
I use WiFi printer to eliminate all the headaches like that. Any how, it supposes to work as a LPR. How about setting it up at the PC as a network printer first and then plug the printer into router to see if it makes any difference. Or it is compatibility issue. I see WF600 is newer version of RX595.

Not all USB printers are compatible.
