Script as daemon

Hi there,

i have a RT-AC66U with 380.70 installed and ask myself what is the best way to let a script run on boot and even more important after ssh-logoff.

Is there anything like init scripts or systemd?

The script is collecting wifi-client information and calling curl to push it to influxdb every 10 seconds.

If you install Merlin firmware you can initiate scripts from many different triggers.

Hi,

thank you for your quick reply.

So i activated the "Enable JFFS custom scripts and configs".
Put my file there, added execution permission and named it "services-start.sh"
according to https://github.com/RMerl/asuswrt-merlin.ng/wiki/User-scripts#services-start.
Script works if i run it in the terminal session.

But the script is not executed during reboot. I don't see anything in /tmp.

Please advice.

Don't use any filename extensions. It's "services-start".

You don’t need the .sh extension
