sierra EM7430 usb modem issues

I've been having problems with my new Sierra EM7430 modem being recognised/connected to the RT-AC68U running Merlins firmware. I can insert my older Sierra 320U and it connects within a few minutes. Is the EM7430 supported?

Bump...I've tried 380.69 (only works with the Sierra 320U) and the latest 384.3 (neither the Sierra 320U OR the Sierra EM7430 connects)....

Try using stock Asus firmware and if it still doesn't work contact Asus support. Merlin has previously stated that he doesn't touch anything to do with USB modem code.
