Significant improvements from DIR-655?

New Around Here
I'm currently leveraging a DLink DIR-655 as an AP for a AT&T UVerse NVG515 Modem/Router. I get sufficient signal strength through this method, but the signal quality (according to a Cisco device) is very poor and my guess is that it's due to the large amount of traffic in the 2.5Ghz space. Given that the DIR-655 is nearing EOL (if not already), will I see significant improvement in signal quality by moving to the RT-N66U?

My adapters are:
(1) Netgear WNA3100
(2) DLink DWA-160

If I need to upgrade my adapters, I'm perfectly fine with that.

If the plan was to put both of these adapters on the 5GHz radio you are half way there.

The Netgear does not support 5GHz but the Dlink does.
