Hello,
The latest version of Skynet 8.0.7 gives me this error message in the system log every hour. I have tried uninstalling and removing the swap partition and reinstalling Skynet, but the same message comes back after a while. I have also tried rebooting the router.
Code:
Dec 27 19:00:00 Skynet: [✘] Lock file busy but metadata invalid (pid='') - another Skynet instance is running - Exiting
RT-AX86U Pro - 3006.102.6

I had that. Rebooted the router and all was fine after.

It’s very possible your issue is coming from the USB drive that Skynet is using. Skynet relies heavily on that drive for its working files and the swap file, and when the USB stick starts to fail, you’ll often see symptoms like “lock file busy,” “metadata invalid,” or Skynet refusing to start or stop.

You might want to consider switching from a USB flash stick to a small SSD in a USB enclosure. Make sure you choose one with a Realtek RTL9210B or Asmedia ASM235CM chipset.
