Slow Bridge Speed

When I use the Netgear Wnr2000rpt as a wireless bridge with a cat 5e cable connected from it too an access point I get 1mbps speed and I pay for 6mbps which stays consistent. The Wnr2000rpt does get a good signal (green indicator light and connected to the main access point at 130mbps). Why does this happen? Thanks in advance for all help and suggestions.

The main router is a Motorola SBG6580 and the extender is a WNR2000rpt. They are using channel 6 with the second access point on 11. I am using the access point to extend the range, I know the extender can do this but it always drops the connection on my android devices. Also, the main router is set to N-Only so I have no legacy devices connected. If there is anyother information you need let me know. Thanks!
