what brand is the nic and is it an onboard as in on the mother board or an ad in card? I assume you checked to make sure its not a 100/10 nic?

can you mac clone the at&t gate way and use the 88u directly with the connection, my isp requires the usage of their horrid modem but I bypassed it with a mac clone.

It’s intel and on board on a msi b250 Mortar motherboard. The negotiation happens at 1000. I even tried a USB NIC and got the same result.
