Slow Upload On 5GHz

New Around Here
Hello I have an Asus RT-N66U and I hadn't updated my Asus firmware for quite some time. I updated the firmware a couple weeks ago. After, I updated the firmware on my router I noticed the upload speed on the 5Ghz became slow. I asked RMerlin for some advice, and he gave me a few things to try. I really hate to keep bothering him so I figured I would just ask for help on the forum. I've tried three other computers and they all are just as slow. I am lucky to get 11Mbps for my upload speed, but I am getting over a 100Mbps for my download. It doesn't seem to matter how close I get to my wireless router the speeds don't ever seem to increase. I've installed Asuswrt-Merlin after the fact. Deleted my wireless profiles and restored to factory defaults. On the 2.4Ghz I am over 100 Mbps both direction. If guys have advice I would love to hear it.

Curious if you tried going back to the old firmware and seeing if that's okay?

Did you try re-flashing the firmware version that you upgraded to? Don't do another reset and reconfigure, just try re-flashing it. Sounds weird, but this has helped me a couple of times that strange things were happening.

Also, I'm assuming that after your did the factory reset, you reconfigured your router by hand, not from a saved settings file. You shouldn't use a saved settings file when flashing a new version, generally speaking. There are exceptions, but if you're having problems manual reconfiguration after a reset is definitely the way to go.

This is one of those odd ones that sounds like something is stuck or corrupted, either from a previous version or that the upgrade flash didn't totally work right.

Hello RogerSC I did end up loading an older firmware, and upload speed increased significantly. I haven't been using a saved system setting. I hadn't thought about reflashing it again. I will definitely try that tomorrow. I'll let you know how that works.
