Hi,

i am running Firmware:374.40 and have installed SNMP with Entware.

I created a snmpd.conf

com2sec public default public
group public v1 public
group public v2c public
group public usm public
view all included .1
access public "" any noauth exact all all all
sysservices 78

and were able to start the server
snmpd -c ../../etc/snmp/snmpd.conf

I started a snmpwalk
.iso.3.6.1.2.1.1.1.0 = Linux AsusRouterUnten 2.6.22.19 #1 Thu Mar 6 20:36:16 EST 2014 mips
.iso.3.6.1.2.1.1.4.0 = root@localhost
.iso.3.6.1.2.1.1.6.0 = Unknown
.iso.3.6.1.2.1.1.7.0 = 78
.iso.3.6.1.2.1.1.8.0 = 2
....

So i do get tons of mibs back.

A snmptranslate unfortunately did not give me user friendly names.

Any advice which OIDs are of most interest.
e.g. current download on WAN port, amount of connected WLAN clients...

/BR

I am running into the next issue.
I looked into some howto's.
To make snmpd restarting a next reboot i should issue the following command:

app_set_enabled.sh snmpd yes
/usr/sbin/app_set_enabled.sh: line 33: ipkg: not found
The "snmpd" is not installed yet!

I am sure that snmpd is installed.
Verified with opkg list-installed

Looks like above command is only valid for optware.

What is the right command to entware to get snmpd restared at next reboot?

Thx

Hi ,

finally found the OID the reflect the WAM port IN/OUT

.1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.16.2 -> ifOutOctets.2 3415228099 Counter32
.1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.10.2 -> ifInOctets.2 3809508406 Counter32

I am currently use OpenHab with SNMP binding to show the values on my mobile device.

Is there a OID that gives kB/s and not the amount of package?

Thx

Hi Kreutpet,

Did you manage to get this working at all?

I've recently installed net-snmp but have no idea what to put in snmpd.conf

I'd like to be able to monitor my WAN port using Networx.

Thanks,

John

Hi,

Snmp.conf is shown in my first post.
I used a opensource mibbrowser to lockinto avaliable information.

Wan port counter is also available.
