Softflowd as a Service

New Around Here
After plenty of googling I've hit a wall. Recently got softflowd installed and running on my router (RT AX-58U), but am having trouble getting it to run at start up, or even run at all. The only way I'm able to get it to run is by using the "-d" [Don't daemonise (run in foreground)] switch. Running it without -d seems to do nothing, confirmed with a ps and a pcap looking for any netflow being sent from the router. Found a few forum posts mentioning to modify the init.d file for softflowd, but for whatever reason I don't have any softflowd file under init.d. Maybe I installed incorrectly? Just ran a opkg install softflowd.

Current solution is to just leave a shell open with softflowd running, but definitely not the ideal option. In theory if I could get it to run in the background, and start at boot, that would be awesome. Any assistance is greatly appreciated :)

RT AX-58U
Running Merlin build 384.19
AMTM version 3.1.8

This seems very resource intensive. Particularly for the modest hardware on the RT-AX58U.

Eh, hasn't been too bad while I've been running it manually.
To be more specific, CPU is sitting around 5% and memory is at 52%, typically runs around 35%. This is after having the process run manually for a few hours. Just really wish I could figure out how to get it to run in the background and at startup! I did find an example softflowd init.d script.....slightly anxious about applying it though as I'm not entirely sure what will happen if it is incorrect / errors out. Am I going to get stuck in some sort of boot loop?
