Static Link Aggregation - 3 com Switch configuration

mawallace

New Around Here
I want to use a Intel Pro "team" for load balancing and it has been suggested that I use these in • Static Link Aggregation or • DYNAMIC mode

I will be using a 3 com Baseline Switch 2900.

Do I need to do any confirmation on the switch - and if so, any suggestions. Or do switches recognise this automatically?

You need a "smart" / managed switch that can be set to the same mode as your "teamed" NICs support.

Note that teaming NICs on a client won't boost throughput for large file transfers. A given connection only uses one port at a time.
