I can't decide between these two units. I know the Synology out performs the Qnap by a significant margin. They both seem to be overall very solid units but as a home user I am trying to determine if the increase in performance in the Synology is worth the extra 200 over the Qnap. How do the different UI's fair? I've noticed the Synology seems a little more user friendly than what I've seen from the Qnap.
I am going for a 4 bay raid 5 solution as I would like the ability to expand in the future. I really like that new Synology 209+ but I don't like being limited to 2 drives. That is why I have narrowed it down to these two units.
Any advice is appreciated.
