Hi everyone,
I have a Technicolor TC7210.CM DOCSIS 3.0 gateway that is currently operating in CM (Bridge) mode.
I am trying to repurpose the device, but I cannot switch it back to full RG (Residential Gateway / Router) mode.
Current situation:
Any technical advice or experience with this model would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
I have a Technicolor TC7210.CM DOCSIS 3.0 gateway that is currently operating in CM (Bridge) mode.
I am trying to repurpose the device, but I cannot switch it back to full RG (Residential Gateway / Router) mode.
Current situation:
- No access to 192.168.0.1
- Only limited diagnostic access (192.168.100.1)
- Factory reset does not change the operating mode
- Web interface does not provide an option to switch from CM to RG
- Device seems firmware-locked
- Goal:
- Enable full router functionality (NAT, DHCP, Wi‑Fi, LAN routing)
- Switch from CM mode to RG mode
- Flash generic / stock firmware if possible
- Remove firmware restrictions
- Is CM/RG mode controlled purely by DOCSIS provisioning?
- Is there any publicly available generic firmware for TC7210.CM?
- Has anyone accessed this model via UART/serial console?
- Is the bootloader signed/locked?
- Can this device function as a standalone router without ISP provisioning?
Any technical advice or experience with this model would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
