Time to upgrade RT-AC68R H/W Ver: A1 from 380.59

Now running a RT-AC86U with 384.8 Beta2 as the Primary and satisfied with it, now up nearly 4 days including connected clients to it).

The 68R has served my network well as the Primary for years along with two linksys routers running DD-WRT as repeaters. It's time to replace the linksys routers with the 68R.

If I remember right, once I upgrade the 68R to 380.60+ (I will go to 384.8 Beta2 from 380.59 though, after doing a Restore on it), I will not be able to go back to 380.59 on that 68R, unless I use Asus' firmware recovery tool. Is that correct?

Or, have they restricted doing that even with that tool?

Yes, you are correct!

But do NOT restore settings on different versions of the firmware - re-enter it manually.
