Tip for accessing AX88U after failed firmware update

I was able to regain access to an Asus RT-AX88U after a failed fw update. I was trying to go to factory defaults and lost access to the config page at 192.168.1.1. However, I noticed that the router was detected on a wifi scan at 192.168.50.1. So, I set a static IP for the computer 192.168.50.2, 255.255.255.0 and turned off all the Edge browser safe browsing features. I was then able to access the router at 192.168.50.1 and reset to 192.168.1.1.

Yes, for many Asus routers, 192.168.50.1 is the new 'default'. This is generally well-known (at least on these forums).

Mea culpa. I see in the PDF manual that 192.168.50.1 is listed as default. My other, older Asus routers were at 192.168.1.1.
