New Around Here
I recentlty bought a TP-Link 1043 as my wrt54g was too slow for my new fiber 50/50 connection. When I connect my pc directly to my modem (which has no router) I can easily reach 50/50 stable.
However when I go through the TP-Link I hit a wall at 40Mbps.
I tested using bandwithmeter free and used ftp to upload and download to my isp homepage. Both results using same test. What really strikes me is the hard wall I seem to hit at 40: a flat line.
Tests show it should easily handle 40Mbps, it's even recommended for 120Mbps cable...so what is wrong? Is FTP slowing it down? How can I try another test as internet based speedtests have various results.
Other:
TP-link has latest firmware.
QOS set for port 80 to always allow fast browsing
No other machines using internet at the time
