Transparent proxy with Merlin firmware?

Has anybody done transparent proxy with say Polipo or Squid (using an external hdd)? Is it worth the effort?

I think these would probably put a demand on resources that the high-end home routers don't have...

Thanks for your reply, I was thinking the use of Polipo would be more apt in this case rather than Squid which is more suited to a more powerful CPU class. I guess I will have to try this out and test the resource usage.

Well, Polipo is out of the list since it doesnt support intercepting proxy… so squid it is…

i have one private fast proxy IP address with port and assigned to my IP address. Is possible to use that proxy on my AC68U? i know i can put it on windows system but i would like to put it on asus router?
