Tried to register my Asus RT-AC68P router today at the Asus register site ( I bought it last year). I was logged in as I also had an Asus computer previously registered there.
Under the Product Type drop down I saw no listing for Routers so I chose the listing of 'Networking' but there no RT-AC68s listed. Only RXs is all ??? I chatted with someone at Asus and basically told them the same thing and they did not have any answer at.
What's the secret to register this router ?

Choose the "Wireless" category.

Wow thanks you know more than Asus's chat people. I found the router under wireless and typed in all the data but it won't accept my serial number. Which I triple checked right off the router and box sitting right beside me. It's correct the site is dysfunctional. It gives me a message about 1 is one, l is a small case el, O is a capital oh, and 0 is a zero. Well I'm aware of all that and I gave them the correct number. So just not my day I guess. That router works but I can't register it nor can I ask any questions about setup without it being registered.

But since you're smarter than Asus people I will probably just ask any new questions on here. Thanks

Never had a problem to register an Asus product by S/N, maybe hard to read l/1 0/O and so on.
Only once it has been denied but that has been an used laptop and previous owner already registred it!

But they never replaced any faulty device within warrenty, so registration more than senseless for me!!!
Maybe different behavior in other countries, but thats what happened to me ... not bought in the country I am registred to, no help at all!

Thanks for the reply, I'm kinda in hurry to get out the door but maybe later I will attach an image of the SN on the box which matches the router. I've got it just like it reads. Of course to me it's rather counter productive to have a 1 and an l or a O and 0 zero in the same SN. But whatever, the main reason I wanted to register the product is they won't let me access parts of the support request without the registration (or so it appeared from the required questions).

Don't bother. You're better off keeping your information to yourself.

Registration is not required for warranty service.

You will find more correct answers her than you ever will at Asus. Good products just lousy support.

I also gave up at Asus, wrong password when I know it was right, think they must test everything when you visit, I spoof my location and a lot more, would need to boot firefox in safe mode to get it done. Amazon gives a warrantee for me anyway

Thanks that seems to be the summation of it. I love the way the router operates, twice the speed of my old router both on ethernet and WiFi. And the interface is much more diverse. I love the guest accts for visitors wanting to log on for their smartphones whereas you can set the access to the rest of the LAN (Intranet in Asus language) to OFF. Of course with the current state of windows networking it'd be difficult to see much anyhow but I like having it. Very pleased with the router.
