Good Morning:

Is it possible to turn off or disable WiFi on the RT-AC87U. I just set up an Orbi Pro SRR60 and corresponding Satellite to handle all things WiFi.

Currently, I renamed the SSID's on the Asus and hid the SSID's. However, that still means they are "still around."

There is a setting under the "Professional" tab "Enable Radio". Currently it is set to ON. I wonder if setting it to OFF is the answer.

I would grateful for any assistance.

Thanks

Louis

Yes that is correct it. Set it to off and that will work.

I went to the configuration settings (Professional tab) and set the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz radio settings to OFF, and I clicked APPLY. But the wi-fi is still on and when I go back to the settings to confirm it shows radio is set to ON again. It's like the APPLY button does nothing. I've tried rebooting the router as well as logging out and back in to the configuration page. What else can I do?

Setting 'Enable Radio' to No on the professional tab is definitely the right way to turn the wifi off, it works fine on my RT-AC87U and RT-AC68U, if it doesn't on yours it may be time for a factory reset of the router. Maybe try to toggle another setting on the same page (like enable wireless scheduler) to see if it's the whole page or just the radio on/off setting playing up and you could try using a different browser.

What firmware version are you running? Have you switched from Asus stock firmware to Merlin or between major Merlin versions without doing a factory reset?
