TV wifi connection help

My apartment came with wifi included, its a basement apartment and the router is in the upper area that I don't have access to. My landlord did install an ethernet cable for my desktop computer. The problem I have is that the connection my bedroom TV gets is terrible. Streaming is inconsistent and frustrating.

So not really sure what I can do about it, the ethernet is pretty good, fast enough speeds for me. Is there any way to boost the signal somehow? I don't really have any idea where the router is located upstairs. The distance from where my computer is, to the place the problem TV is, is around 20 feet, and has a wall separating them.

Rather than connect your computer to the provided Ethernet cable, you could connect an access point or mesh system. You'd then set up your own Wi-Fi on this, and if you get the right one, still be able to connect a cable to your computer. Just be aware that your connection will be insecure, your landlord, and possibly other residents will be able to snoop on your unencrypted data.

Instead of setting up an AP connected to the Ethernet cable running to your apartment double NAT a router connected to the Ethernet cable. Since the Ethernet cable will connect to the WAN port on the double NATed router it will be secure.
