Ubitquiti Networks added two new access points to its family of enterprise grade Wi-Fi networking devices. The new APs are the UniFi AC Mesh and UniFi AC Mesh Pro.

Both APs are designed for easy integration into indoor and outdoor installations, and are 802af PoE compatible devices that can be used to build a mesh network in areas such towns, stadiums, conference halls and other venues. Both APs are managed using Ubiquiti’s UniFi mobile app (iOS and Android), or by using the APs’ built-in web GUI.

The 2x2 UniFi AC Mesh AP has an aggregate maximum link rate of 1167 Mbps, while the 3x3 Pro version gets 1750 Mbps and includes two Gigabit Ethernet ports.

Both Ubiquiti UniFi APs are available for pre-order, with shipping to start in November. The UniFi AC Mesh (UAP-AC-M) AP’s MSRP is set at $99 or $480 for a five pack. The UniFi AC Mesh Pro (UAP-AC-M-PRO) AP will cost $199 or $975 for a five pack. Note that PoE injectors are not included.

Darn... I was hoping new firmware would allow mesh-like functionality in current UAP-AC-XXX devices
