Unable to check for updates

Running a RT-AC68U as an access point under 380.64_2. When I go to check for updates it fails with this message "Unable to connect to the update server."

Any ideas?

I also have a 68u as an AP on same firmware as you. Just tried it and it works on mine.
I take it the clients connected to the AP have internet access ok?

The update server is behind Cloudflare. If you use any kind of VPN or your IP is being blacklisted then you won't be able to connect to the update server.

Problem began when I tried Untangle UTM as the router. Not sure why the system was blocking access...it never even showed the attempt to reach the update server but along with other weirdness I have since made the 68U the router again...now the update server is visible once again. Thanks for the help!

This usually means you get a different IP based on the MAC of your router, and one of the two is being blacklisted.

Hmm, I still had the same IP address from my ISP. Regardless, I got rid of the Untangle router and switched back to my trusty 68U...was just an exploratory exercise.
