Hi all,

Recently I replaced my Win10 home theatre PC with a Windows 11 HTPC, and now cannot get my RT-AC86U (386.7_2) to mount a share on it. Never had a problem with Win10, but now with the Win11 device, my mount command won't work. Other devices (Win10 PC, Android) can successfully connect to the Win11 share. Just my router has issues.

This is what used to work when I had the WIN10 HTPC:
mount -t cifs \\\\192.168.50.5\\D /tmp/mnt/htpc1 -o "username=router,password=XXXX"

Now I receive this response:
mount: mounting \\192.168.50.5\D on /tmp/mnt/htpc1 failed: Host is down

But as I said, it's not down, other devices can connect to it just fine using the same username and password.

I've disabled Win11 firewall, allowed anonymous connections, granted everyone full permissions... no change. Same error. Any ideas??

I was running rsync to backup a bunch of things. Now I'm in limbo...

Thanks in advance,

SOLVED!

Saw this:

Tried this:
mount -t cifs \\\\192.168.50.5\\D /tmp/mnt/htpc1 -o "username=router,password=XXXX,vers=2.0"

All looking good now!

Thanks anyway!!
