Unable to set up pppoe fibre on my Asus GT AX11000

NeilP

New Around Here
I switched fibre providers from Toob to 4th Utility (UK) and now can't set up my router for pppoe . I have my pppoe username and password and I have input the VID setting under the IPTV tab, I tried 911 (City Fibre) ,201 and 101 but to no avail and although I have searched this forum the posts all appear to have been fixed so I must be missing something. I can work my way around my router but am not tech savvy. I'm running the latest Merlin firmware but it probably isn't a Merlin problem so I posted here. I'm currently running the stock router with my Asus in DMZ but I would like to run just one router as I did before, Toob broadband was "plug and play" and didn't need setting up.
If you are able to take the time to help me I would appreciate it.

I have my Asus in dmz via the supplied router and it works but I just want to have the Asus as the only router as I did with my previous ISP . The only information given by my new ISP is the pppoe username and password and the rest is my problem. I have seen here people resolve this with various settings but I guess I must be missing something .

I guess you're in the uk. If so, point to note:
ISPs always say to use a vlanid of 101 for openreach. However, this is old info from the vdsl days. In fact you shouldn't use vlanid at all.

Do you have to clone the MAC address of the ISP router ?
i have seen that mentioned before in other threads here.
I have also seen that but not entirely sure what to do even I know I've done it a long time ago, I will check this out. I plan to attack this on Monday when nobody will be using the internet so am looking for ideas.

Oh ok. I have seen vlanid brought up in other posts so that's why I mentioned it.
I set my router to pppoe and input username and password given by ISP but it didn't work that's when I started looking for an answer.
Thanks for replying.
