I have three Asus access points of different types around the house, all with the same SSID on both 2.4 and 5Ghz bands. The main router/AP is a DSL-AC88U. Running a speed test website when connected wirelessly to this AP wirelessly shows a speed of about 45Mbs, but it's noticeable that when attempting video calls (in Zoom or WhatsApp) on different client devices, there are frequent interruptions and "unstable connection" messages, which go away instantly if I move close to a different access point and reconnect to wifi using a different AP. Is there something in the settings of the DSL-AC88U that could be causing an unstable wifi connection? I'm not clever enough to be able to understand log files, or what all the various advanced settings do. I previously turned off Roaming Assistant because it was causing serious connection problems. Asus have failed to update the firmware of DSL-AC88U for two years. I have tried changing the 2.4GHz channel.
Thanks for any help. Chris
