Using both 10g ports on AXE-16000, labored 10g connection after reboot

My network:
AT&T Fiber Modem with 5g out to Asus AXE-16000 10g in with latest Merlin v3006.102.6
AXE-16000 10g out to my Trendnet TEG-S380 2.5g 8 port switch.

When I reboot my router it takes a very long time detecting 10g use. It will keep trying 2.5g input and after what seems like a fairly long time it will finally connect 10g in/out.

Not sure if this an issue with Merlin or Asus base code or setup.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Actually it has been that way from the start. Nothing has changed

What happens if you unplug the cable to the 2.5 Gb/s switch and re-start ?

May help:

Go to Dual WAN tab and select the primary WAN to be the 10 G port WAN port you are using. At the bottom click Apply. Once you do that try connecting the 2.5 G switch to the 2.5 GbE port. It may not work, but worth a shot. If it doesn't work preferably connect the switch to 10 GE 2.
