Using NG N750 as AP to ASUS RT-AC68U

I setup my old Netgear N750 router as an access point in my family room yesterday. My AC68U is running 380.70 version of the firmware. N750 is connected via ethernet cable to the AC68U. So N750 is set to AP mode, and cable from AC68U to N750 is connected to the WAN port of the N750. I have 4 other devices (TV/AV receiver/DVD Player and Chromecast) connected via ethernet to the 4 LAN ports. All this is working fine.

Here's my question, I am also extending via the N750 my WiFi using the same SSID's as on the AC68U. This is also working fine. The curious thing is on ASUS/Merlin WebUI, when I look at the client list, the wifi connected devices - 2 Echo's, my laptop and my Galaxy S8 - all show up as being wired connected - not wireless. The MAC address is correct, just the interface is off. Since they are all working correctly, I'm more curious than concerned.

Are you talking about devices connected to the Wi-Fi on the N750? If so then that is correct. They are connected by wire, the wire from the N750 to the Asus.

Network Map has always been problematic - it's cosmetic, and doesn't impact performance...

Asus isn't alone on this, I can name at least one other vendor that does an even worse job at the same task...
